Clinton and Clinton

Someone brought up the scenerio what if Hillary Clinton was the presidential nominee and she picked Bill Clinton to run as her Vice President. Is that legal.

I think it is.

The prohibition is that Bill Clinton cannot run for the office of President after two terms. So, he wouldnt' be running for reelcttion,b ut he could in theory become president IF the president died in office. Then Bill would be president, but not ELECTED to the presidency.

I am trying to find out if it's a loophole in the law.

Any suggestions?

Comments:
A law professor friend of mine told me the skinny on this one (Thanks Michael).

The candidates for President and VP can't be from the same state (Hilliary and Bill are both from NY)

Only someone eligible to run for President can be nominated for VP, that leave Bill out (22 Amendment)
