Jesus the excuse
Why do some people who call themselves Christians use Jesus as an excuse for not facing up to their own responsibilities?
And why do others blame people who haven't "accepted Jesus as their personal savior" for having a mental illness?
The more I see of the kind of judgemental attitudes with belief in Jesus as the root, the more agnostic I become.

There are so many people who will use any religious or other figure to excuse themselves from pretty much anything.
These are not believers. I'm sorry that your experience has been with these types of people and not those who are genuinely friendly and don't hide behind their religion as a form of an excuse for a personal problem they have.
